The former UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo has returned to the UFC with one strong intention: to capture the prestigious UFC bantamweight belt. He is all set to lock horns with Mario Bautista this Saturday night. After claiming a solid win against Jonathan Martinez in UFC return, Aldo was firmly fixated on directly fighting for the belt and since that didn’t happen, he looks at all of this as a test.

Jose on fighting for the title
In a recent interview with MMA Fighting, Jose shared his thoughts on fighting for the belt. “I even thought I could go straight for the title, but it didn’t happen, but as I said, I accept any challenge,” Jose said, as quoted by mmafighting.com.
“This is my life, to fight and win regardless of the opponent, Mario or Jonathan. Since the UFC put him, I have to fight. If that’s what I want to become champion, then I’ll face anyone. I see this as another test, they were testing me last time to see if I still wanted this or not.
Like it or not, I have a different level. It’s another test to me to get closer to the belt, which is my goal. I have the dream of becoming champion and I give my all in training for that. I do what it takes, and rest assured that I’m well-prepared”.
40 fights into his career, Jose Aldo is fighting guys 6-7 years younger than him, giving them a chance to make a name for themselves. All at the age of 38. Gotta respect it. pic.twitter.com/uC4oTcN8Fo — Full Violence ™ (@Full_Violence) October 1, 2024
