Harry Kane continues his great form after scoring a goal in yesterday's duel with Moenchengladbach that secured victory for his team. The Englishman is in the fight for the Golden Boot, and it seems that he is well on his way to winning it.
Although he is mostly criticized for not winning trophies, the 31-year-old is not worried about such critics, believing that he is the profile of a player who can do great things.
"Yes, I often hear remarks from that guy. It's true that I have collected many individual awards for the best player or scorer, but I never started the season with that goal. I always have team trophies on my mind, so I'm not happy that they elude me, of course. However, I'm only 31 years old. In the past, that was the beginning of the end for footballers. Today, it's not like that," Kane said in an interview with L'Equip.
"It seems to me that I am just reaching the peak and I think that the best Harry Kane is yet to come. In fact, I am convinced of that. Just as I am convinced of the fact that the second part of my career, the one that is starting now, will be rich in big club or national team trophies . And then when I hang up my football boots, that story will no longer be relevant".
The former Tottenham player is not someone who likes to wait for balls. He is a special striker who wants to fight for balls, run, and help his teammates.
"It's true, I don't like such matches, but you have to be ready for those situations as well. Then you have to be concentrated, to deal with millimeters, to think about every step you're going to take. People think that a striker doesn't do anything when he doesn't touch the ball. Delusion. You can be the best without the ball and completely useless with the ball at your feet."
