The UFC heavyweight champion Jon Jones has entered the ending phase of his career. The thought of calling it quits did enter Jon Jones' mind – his performance against Stipe Miocic on 16th November (UFC309) will finalize whether he will continue fighting or not. But if Jon Jones were to extend his stay the only fight he would prefer entertaining would be one with Alex Pereira. A potential clash between Jon Jones and Alex Pereira could turn out to be one of the best fights in the history of MMA.

Jon  says he wants to fight in a “mega fight” after #UFC309, and says it doesn’t matter whether or not a belt is on the line

Jon Jones on fighting Alex Pereira

In a recent interview with Kevin Iole, Jon Jones shared his thoughts on fighting the UFC light heavyweight champion next.

“If there were to be a fight of a guy that’s still on our UFC roster that would be not only financially worth it but legacy worth it, it would be Alex Pereira,” Jones said as quoted by mmafighting.com. “Alex Pereira and I, we’re both 37 years old. Right now I weigh about 235 [pounds]. I’m an incredibly light heavyweight. I think Pereira walks around at 240.

I think that fight would go much farther on my legacy than a young man who’s cool today and maybe gone tomorrow.”

Jon  is adamant the only fight he'd be interested in past #UFC309 is against   pic.twitter.com/AEB7YeKmz6
