In recent months, the topic of the NBA coming to Europe fills the covers of NBA magazines, and interest in this possibility is causing reactions.

NBA commissioner Adam Silver stressed that the creation of a European NBA league is being considered. This plan could be one of the biggest developments in the basketball world, but there is still a lot of unknowns about the format of the competition, participants and potential teams.

The decision is there: Will the NBA be present in Europe?

March will be a key day for all basketball fans, because that's when the officials of the NBA franchises meet, who will decide whether to start work on creating a European league that could start in 2026. Of course, although not all the details are now known, it is clear that this could be an opportunity that would change the sports scene in Europe. If everything goes as planned, the new project could attract the best European teams with a great opportunity for everyone.

Although cooperation with the Euroleague is still a topic, it is interesting that there is already speculation about the cities that could host new teams. Cities such as Paris, Milan and Rome have already been mentioned as possible hosts, while some are surprised that Fenerbahce and Olympiakos are not among the most important candidates.

A lot of it is confusing, considering that many details are unknown, but it is certain that we will get answers to various questions in the coming weeks.

However, we must not forget that it is not only the NBA that has ambitions to expand basketball in Europe. The Euroleague, which has dominated the European basketball scene for a long time, wants to expand its competition to 20 teams, which would increase the competition and even out the level of the teams.

If the NBA really decides to enter the European soil, it could be the beginning of a new era in the basketball world.  Whether that will necessarily change everything, we still don't know.

Europeans have always loved US basketball and the NBA, and it seems that they could enjoy it even more, given that their favorite players will be coming to European soil.
