Tiger Woods' mother, Kultida, passed away at the age of 80. The popular golfer confirmed the news via social media last night. Although Kultida attended his TGL match last week, her health worsened, and she died a week later.

In a long post, Tiger Woods showed how much he loves his mother, stressing that she was the biggest support in his career. Kultida was a favorite among acquaintances, friends, and family, and her grandchildren Sam and Charlie felt special love for her.

"It is with heartfelt sadness that I want to share that my dear mother, Kultida Woods, passed away early this morning. My Mom was a force of nature all her own, her spirit was simply undeniable. She was quick with the needle and a laugh. She was my biggest fan, greatest supporter, without her none of my personal achievements would have been possible. She was loved by so many,  but especially by her two grandchildren, Sam and Charlie. Thank you all for your support, prayers and privacy at this difficult time for me and my family. Love you Mom."- Tiger Woods wrote.

Tiger's upbringing

The 48-year-old golfer has previously spoken about the importance of his mother for his career and life. Tiger grew up in a specific environment; on the one hand, he had a father who was a U.S. Army infantry officer, while on the other hand, he had a mother who was strict, with a regime, but Tiger pointed out several times that her approach was filled with love and warmth.

Thanks to such upbringing, the experienced golfer became a big star who fills the covers of golf magazines.

Last night, the TGL match was held, in which a minute's silence was held in honor of Kultida. Famous names from the world of politics, sports and other fields expressed their condolences to the family in difficult times.
