Max Verstappen is always in the media spotlight, and it is understandable given his incredible driving career. The young Dutchman, who recently won the world championship again, has often been linked with various teams. Recently, the media has speculated that Aston Martin could be the next team for him, stating that they could offer him an incredible sum of money; a billion dollars to move.
Horner's reaction to the rumors
These rumors emerged earlier this week, when the presentation of the teams for 2025 was held in London. Red Bull team boss Christian Horner could not hide his disappointment at the reports. During his address to the press, Horner made it clear that he believes the stories are just speculation. The head of the Austrian team is aware that F1 is a place of various speculations from year to year.
"I know you have to fill your columns during the winter, but an offer of a billion dollars for a driver... It would bring tears to your eyes," said Horner, ironically commenting on the offer from Aston Martin.
He also answered a question about Verstappen's happiness at Red Bull.
"I think Max is very happy in the team. He grew up here and has a great relationship with the whole team - from the engineers to the technicians. It's up to us to provide him with a competitive car and continue to provide him with the conditions in which he can achieve what he has been achieving for almost ten years," said Horner.
Asked about the possibility of Aston Martin actually offering $ 1 billion, Horner was cautious, noting that he could not comment on the finances of other teams. However, he stressed that Red Bull is well positioned in the market.
Verstappen, although often linked to different teams, has so far shown no signs of wanting to leave Red Bull. He is only 27 years old, and the question is whether he will decide on a new challenge or stay with the team that seems ideal for his career.
