At the beginning of November, Manchester United fans were extremely excited by the fact that their club would take over one of the most promising European coaches. The past two and a half months of Ruben Amorim have not been full of great moments, but many have tried to justify the Portuguese by saying that he didn't buy these players.
January is coming to an end, and United still haven't made any transfer official, but that will change in the coming days. Lecce delayed the sale of Patrick Dorgu for days and did not want to agree to the sum of 30,000,000 euros, but now United has increased the offer by adding 7,500,000 euros in potential bonuses and thus softened Lecce officials. Lecce is aware of what a gem they have and they don't want to give up.
As Gianluca Di Marzio reports, the transfer of the Danish representative of Nigerian origin has been agreed and it is only a matter of days when the official presentation will take place.
Dorgu's career
Let's remind you, Dorgu was born in Copenhagen, went through Nordsjelanda school, where Lecce saw his talent and brought him into their ranks in the summer of 2022, also first for school, but after a year he was reassigned to the first team. As it is claimed, the Italians brought the right wing from Denmark for only 200,000 euros! And now they will sell it for 37,500,000.
In the meantime, Dorgu made his debut for the Danish national team in the League of Nations, played four games, including the one against Serbia in Copenhagen (2:0), and scored one goal. Manchester United's interest in the 20-year-old Danish left-back shows how much talent they have in Nordsjaelland.
What kind of players have passed through that club in recent years: there was also one of the best midfielders in Serie A today, Stanislav Lobotka, when he was 21 years old, Mohamed Kudus, Kamaldeen Sulemana, Emre Mor, Ibrahim Osman...
