The UFC is preparing an interesting event for us this weekend, with one of the most interesting matches on the program. Leon Edwards, the former champion, will try to return to winning ways after being defeated by Belal Muhammad in an exciting match last summer. However, the UFC has not made his task any easier this time, because his opponent will be quite difficult; Sean Brady.
At first look, it seems that this will be another difficult fight for Edwards. Brady is known as a great wrestler and fighter on the ground, which is definitely not Edwards' strong point. However, Leon has already shown in the past that he can handle such opponents, except for that difficult match against Muhammad.
However, yesterday at a press conference, Edwards revealed something that could affect his performance. Namely, six weeks ago he had a serious health problem. Leon apparently had a staph infection, which is certainly not a favorable introduction to the match. Fortunately, this amazing fighter received antibiotics and successfully recovered.
As he said himself, "I don't have any fitness issues and I'm fine," although he wasn't sure if it was a staph infection or maybe a small bite.
Infection
It is important to stress that staph infection can be serious, especially if not treated in time. In addition, antibiotics can often cause problems with sports endurance and recovery. Fortunately, Edwards stated that the past few weeks have been enough for him to fully recover, so hopefully that won't be a hindrance to his performance on Saturday.
This will be a tough match for this great fighter and he will have to be fully prepared for such a career challenge, which is anything but easy. There is no doubt that he has a serious challenge ahead of him, but Edwards is a fighter who has done things that shocked many many times in his career, and it is expected that his experience may be a guarantee of success this time as well. It's really hard to predict what will happen, but we expect adrenaline and excitement.
