Lando Norris says Bahrain result was like "never having driven an F1 car"

Lando Norris made no secret of his frustration after a poor performance during the race weekend, making it clear that nothing was going right for him.

After earning a five-second penalty for starting outside his grid position and then having to give Lewis Hamilton the position after overtaking the Ferrari driver off the track, the British driver openly admitted: "It's my fault."

"I paid the price for my own mistakes," Norris said frankly, adding: "They were mistakes I shouldn't have made in the first place."

His post-race comments were a continuation of the negative comments he made the day before.

After qualifying, Norris made a statement to F1 TV that shocked many fans and analysts.

"Honestly, I've been slow all weekend," he said.

"Nothing too surprising. I'm just out of it. I feel like I've never driven a Formula 1 car."

These words from one of the most talented drivers on the grid surprised many.

"I'm struggling a lot, I don't know why. I have to try to find some answers," Lando added.

It's no secret that McLaren has its ups and downs, but the problem is when Norris is this direct and self-critical because it means that something isn't quite right.

The penalty for wrong positioning at the start is one of the most basic mistakes that Formula 1 drivers make - and very rarely.

Add to that the incident with Hamilton, which forced Norris to waste more time, and it is clear that frustrations were inevitable.

There is speculation in the paddock that something is wrong with the car's settings or possible technical problems that the team has not yet discovered.

Norris, however, did not try to blame the car or the team - he took all the mistakes on himself.

Such an approach, although painful, may open the door for an internal reset and return to form.
