In July 2023, Lamine Yamal became a member of the first team of Barcelona, and very quickly took his place in the starting line-up. As soon as he is healthy, coach Hansi Flick regularly puts him in the first team. His contract runs until 2026, but Yamal has repeatedly stressed that fans can rest easy. He plans to stay at the club.

"If both sides want something to happen, then it will happen," Yamal said in an interview with "Mundo Deportivo".

A great future ahead of him

This 17-year-old is doing great things on the pitch. He overcomes opponents with ease, excels in dribbling and often scores goals. Current balance? 11 goals and 15 assists in 32 games this season.

Therefore, it is no surprise that many clubs see him as a desired target. The president of the club, Joan Laporta, rejected numerous offers, including that of PSG. However, Yamal claims that he has not heard anything about the proposal and emphasizes that he has no intention of changing his jersey at the moment.

"I don't think anyone doubts how much I love Barcelona and how much this club means to me," the young footballer said.

The future may bring different circumstances, but Yamal is sure of one thing; he knows the colors of the club he belongs to and will not change them. He made this clear in an interview with Mundo Deportivo, which was published on Thursday.

A journalist asked him what he would do if a football giant like Real Madrid contacted him. "Me at Real Madrid? Impossible. No, not at Madrid," Yamal replied.

This statement shows his determination, because it is already known that Real Madrid is Barcelona's eternal rival. Although the past remembers cases when some players moved from one club to another, the most famous example is the transfer of Luis Figo, who moved from Barcelona to Real, causing a lot of controversy.

Yamal is currently a Barcelona player, and according to information, there is a clause in his contract according to which his contract will be extended until 2030, as soon as he turns 18 (in July 2025). We will find out soon whether this will happen.
