The former UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya has faced back-to-back setbacks which no one really expected. First, Sean Strickland and then Dricus Du Plessis – both were significant defeats but Izzy never failed to keep his chin up, he always looks at the positive.
His actions make it appear that he’s a firm believer of the saying “A comeback is always greater than a setback”. As far as Izzy’s return is concerned, he looks forward to either fighting before the end of 2024 or in the first quarter of 2025.
Israel Adesanya on his return
Recently on The Adam Carolla Show, Izzy shared his thoughts on making a return.
“Even though I don’t have the belt, they still got my name in their mouth,” Izzy said, as quoted by mmafighting.com. “I’m still Israel Adesanya. For me, I’ll let them call me out, or whatever.
At the moment, I want to fight one more time before the end of this year, or early next year. But I don’t know yet. I’m just training, building off where we left off, and I’ll get the call at some point with a few options.
I’m sure Dana [White] will hit me up at some point”.
33 year old 'Israel' Adesanya regained his UFC championship belt on Easter
He celebrated by drawing a cross on top of the 3 nails that represent "666" on the Monster energy drink logo and flips it off
