The situation on the golf scene is still chaotic, despite the fact that a framework agreement was reached between PIF and the PGA Tour more than a year ago. Day by day, fans and golfers hope for something new, but nothing has changed.
Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy, the two most recognizable figures of this sport, have softened their initial views on LIV, wishing for the situation to change, and hoping for a better future for everyone.
However, Norman and the rest of the team cannot forget the statements of McIlroy and Woods upon the arrival of LIV. Both were critical of the controversial Tour, warning those who joined such a project.
A few years later, the CEO of LIV Golf, Greg Norman decided to comment not only on their statements, but also on the changes of the PGA Tour, which he believes are motivated mostly by the desire to have supremacy in relation to LIV.
"I would love them to recognise the fact that, like Tiger with his PIP money, that only came because of LIV, right?" -Greg said, as reported by The West.
"So Tiger benefited from that. Rory has definitely benefited from that.
I would love to sit down and talk to them about it, no question about it, because I'm not a judgmental person and you only learn the facts and truth when you hear the other side of it."
Norman went a step further, stressing that he was willing to sit down with them, confident that he could beat them in a debate.
"But, yes, would I like to sit down with them? Sure, absolutely.
And you know what? I'd win the debate."
