The famous NASCAR driver spoke to the media about the last Pocono race, emphasizing the fight with Briscoe, as well as fuel tactics.
The experienced driver admitted that he had an extremely difficult task, but it is known that Hamlin does not give up even when he has minimal chances of success.
Denny praised the tactics that did not turn out to be fruitful this time, but on the other hand, the team's tactics and willingness to do everything to win must be praised.
“It was definitely going to be really difficult,” Denny Hamlin said, as quoted by On3.
“The key moment, the 19 (Chase Briscoe) and like three or four others pitted and then that caution came out, and it leaped them in front of us. At that point, we knew it was going to be really hard to pass those guys back on the racetrack. The team did a great job, next best in line there of our strategy. Just didn’t work out.”
Can Hamlin silence critics?
The famous driver seems to be reliving his 20s. While fans criticized him year after year, the experienced driver continued to work hard, believing that he could finally emerge as a winner.
Hamlin praised the team and their willingness to help him on this journey.
Denny hopes that the next races will be as fruitful for him, just like the previous three.
“We’re really strong,” Hamlin said. “Not showing up with any weaknesses right now. I’m really proud of the effort that we’ve put forth. Love to get more wins, but still, it was a good overall solid day for us. Now, we move on to the next series of races.”
