Jon Jones has been avoiding public appearances lately and rarely appears in the media, especially when it comes to his potential fight against Tom Aspinall. It seems that negotiations between the UFC and Jones are still in the process, as there is no official information confirming the date or terms of the fight. Because of this, many MMA fans have begun to speculate about the real reasons for this delay.

First, Jones asked for an enormous sum of money for this fight, which is not surprising considering his status in the UFC. However, the latest request he made, which includes an additional six months for preparation, has caused a lot of reactions in the public. While the need for extensive preparation can be understood, many believe that his request is a bit excessive. And as it seems, the whole situation has caused laugh among many fans, as well as his colleagues in the fighting world.

Daniel Cormier on Jones' moves

Former UFC champion Daniel Cormier, who once was a rival of Jones, recently expressed his opinion on the situation. On his YouTube channel, Cormier suggested that Jon may be deliberately creating a narrative that he’s afraid of fighting Aspinall.

“I think Jon just wants people to believe that he’s afraid of Aspinall. He’s not the type of guy who backs down before fights,” Cormier said.

He also feels that Jones, who has been at the top for a long time, simply enjoys creating excitement among fans and getting reactions.

Cormier also points out that Jones has built such a status that he no longer needs to prove anything on the field, as he has already achieved fame and financial success.

“Jon has already made more than enough money and he doesn’t need to prove anything anymore,” Cormier added, pointing to Jones’ long-term success in the UFC.

A fighter’s and sports fan’s perspective

Many are wondering what’s lies behind this great fighter demands. Some believe that he is asking for more time to prepare, while others believe that this is just his way of creating additional excitement around the fight. In any case, one thing is clear Jones knows how to keep his fans’ attention.

Regardless of all the speculation, we hope that the fight between Jon and Aspinall will finally be arranged this year. While it is hard to say that Jon Jones is afraid of anyone, his actions of late have left room for thought and the creation of new theories among MMA fans.
