Recently, there have been reports suggesting that Fedor Emelianenko could be making a comeback, this time through the Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship (BKFC). The Russian fighter, who has left a huge mark on the world of combat sports, still has a huge fan base who would love to see him in action. With his experience and skills, Emelianenko could be a serious contender on the BKFC scene.

At a BKFC press conference in Italy, Conor McGregor, known for often causing excitement among fans, made an intriguing statement. He said: “Fedor Emelianenko? Stay tuned, we might have an announcement related to Fedor Emelianenko.” This statement has certainly sparked speculation among combat sports fans, as it is unclear what exactly McGregor has in mind.

Judging by the rumors circulating, Fedor could be interested in winning the heavyweight championship, where the belt is currently held by former UFC fighter Ben Rothwell. However, it has not been confirmed that Emelianenko has signed a contract with BKFC or that he will face Rothwell in a title fight. While rumors are circulating, the real answer is still unknown.

His last fight

Fedor last fought in the Octagon on February 4, 2023, at Bellator 290. He was defeated by Ryan Bader via TKO in the first round, after which he announced his retirement from MMA. The Russian fighter was clearly disappointed with his performance and decided it was time to retire. However, despite his retirement, his appetite for success and fighting has clearly not waned, and a return to the fighting world is now possible.

Although he is 48 years old, and it is really hard to expect that he can be as superior as he once was, the Russian fighter wants to show the world once again that age is no obstacle for anyone. However, we should be realistic and know that it is hard to expect that we will see the Emelianenko we saw before.

On the other hand, Ben Rothwell, a 43-year-old fighter, recently won the BKFC heavyweight belt by knocking out Mick Terrill at KnuckleMania V in Philadelphia
