Colby Covington, known for his specific style and tendency to call out his rivals, now has a new target. While he is not unknown to pick fights with others through verbal attacks, he has now decided to call out an UFC commentator, Paul Felder.
The former interim UFC welterweight champion has always been known for controversial statements, and those behaviors produced a lot of reactions. It seems that his relationship with Felder has now reached a point of escalation.
In a recent interview, Covington stressed that the negative comments Felder made about him caused him to react. He was specifically angered when UFC commentator, according to him, made inappropriate comments from the commentary booth.
Covington didn't stop there and told an anecdote that happened during their joint visit to Joint Base Langley Eustis. He claims that the military police had to react because Felder was drunk, and it ended with him tied to the toilet bowl. These claims are quite interesting, and are producing a lot of reactions in UFC community.
Conflict
This conflict could turn into something more, considering that this experienced fighter said that he is ready to confront this commentator the next time they meet. Colby has never in his career avoided call outs and various words, and it seems that he will not change his stance this time either. This great fighter is frustrated by such behavior, believing that he does not deserve it.
"Oh yeah, we'll definitely talk about it. I kept that story to myself for a long time and never intended to share it, but when you start smearing my name in the media and talking nonsense about me... who is Paul Felder anyway? What the hell did Paul Felder do?"- he said.
"I make more money outside of the UFC than he has in his entire life. The character is an absolute loser, he has never done anything in sports," concluded Covington, who obviously wants others to respect him, as he deserves.
