Carlos Sainz has problems at the beginning of the season, that's clear. The experienced driver stresses that the FW 47's balance problem is a huge problem, but he believes that this situation can be resolved. The Spanish driver joined Williams after leaving Ferrari, but the opening of the season was not great, after he ended up in the barrier behind the safety car during the Australian Grand Prix.
The Spaniard shared his emotions about the race, obviously disappointed with how everything turned out.
“I’ve been struggling with balance all day, and both sessions have been pretty tough,” said Sainz.
“We had a few issues in qualifying, including a strange feeling with the seat which we’ll look into, but overall it’s just that I still don’t feel at home in the car.
We’ve been struggling with some balance issues, especially up until SQ2, not knowing exactly where to find the lap times and a bit of overdriving.”
Carlos Sainz's goals
The Williams driver emphasizes that there is room to learn new things in the coming period, already looking to the future, that is, to the next races. Carlos is aware that he had a difficult weekend, but staying focused on the failure can wake up even bigger problems for you, which in the end can cost you a serious result.
Sainz is struggling for now, but the question is whether he will recover.
“I still have a lot to learn and understand about it and I know, with more mileage, that will come. Hopefully tomorrow we can put it all together and improve today’s result for Sunday.
It’s been a tough weekend so far, trying to find the balance in the car. It feels very different here because of the wind, and as I said, I’m struggling to find the lap times when it comes to qualifying.”- Carlos concluded.
