Bubba Wallace has always been a NASCAR driver who has captured the attention of fans and provoked reactions among fans. Despite the criticism directed at him, the 31-year-old driver is equally motivated to succeed and does not want to get too involved in the reactions and analysis of others.
It is noticeable that Wallace has stepped back recently, aware that his every word can arouse strong reactions.
Guesting on the 'Rubbin is Racing' podcast, Wallace spoke about a variety of topics, with his potential decision to retire being one of the topics.
When asked how much longer he plans to race, Wallace said:
“Easiest answer is as long as you keep getting paid,” Wallace said, as reported by On3.
“I think there comes to a point where if you feel like your competitiveness starts to fall, then it’s like okay, you need to look yourself in the mirror that next season that comes up and be like this could be your last."
Many NASCAR drivers admitted after retirement that it was difficult to get used to a new life, but they felt that their body could no longer withstand the effort, nor were they as good on NACAR tracks as they used to be.
Bubba shares his opinion with them.
The popular driver admits that he is not only motivated by money, but also that he wants to be competitive, always aiming for big goals. Wallace is known as a driver who, despite his success, always feels that more is possible.
“I would honestly say I’m not the one to just ride around for a paycheck. I still want to be competitive, and so when that opportunity runs out, then that’ll be it for me.”- Bubba concluded.
Bubba started the new season strong with a win at Duel at Daytona, followed by a P9 finish at the Atlanta race.
