On the indie scene in recent years, we have seen a real return of survival horror from the 90s, and the new announcement confirms this trend once again. In addition to games like Crow Country and Heartworm, another nostalgic project inspired by classic horror films is coming soon. For nostalgics, this will surely be an incredible experience.

The new horror adventure called Phase Zero takes a lot of inspiration from the original Resident Evil. Set in the small American town of Flint Peak, the action takes place in 1994, when a strange infection begins to turn the townspeople into undead zombie creatures. The game follows journalist Mary and engineer Guy as they try to survive and escape from a city that is slowly falling into chaos.

The similarities with the old Resident Evil games are not accidental. Phase Zero uses fixed cameras and "tank" controls that are sure to evoke a sense of nostalgia for fans of classic survival horror. We expect the game to be afflicted with limited inventory and puzzles that aren't always intuitive, just like back in the days when games were much more challenging.

Resident Evil comparation

But there is also a big difference compared to the original Resident Evil – while in the classic game the backgrounds were 2D, in Phase Zero the environment will be completely rendered in 3D, which could bring a new dimension of atmosphere.

While we don't have a specific release date yet, Phase Zero will be available on PC, and a demo version should be available on Steam soon. This return to the roots certainly promises fun and challenges for all survival horror fans looking for an experience similar to those of decades past.

We have no doubt that the reactions to this video game will be mostly positive, given that the creators of this game have invested enormous efforts to provide players with great pleasure and an unforgettable experience.
