After Conor McGregor caused quite a stir at the press conference the day before, with his fiery speech that set the crowd on fire, the BKFC organization further shocked fans by announcing the big tournament for 2026. The tournament will gather as many as 32 fighters, and the total prize fund amounts to an incredible 25 million dollars. The winner will receive more than half of the amount - 15 million to be exact, which already ranks this event among the most profitable in the history of combat sports without gloves.

In addition to the huge tournament, some big names have been confirmed to be joining the organization. Thiago Santos, Derek Brunson and Aspen Ladd are among those who have recently joined BKFC, but the arrival of a veteran who causes fear by his very appearance - Yoel Romero - attracted the most attention.

Romero against age, but also against opponents

The legendary Cuban, who turned 48 this year, is still physically impressive. Although he is approaching his fifth decade, his body and form show no signs of slowing down. Now he is ready to try his hand at bare-knuckle fighting, but as the organization's president David Feldman reveals – not all fighters are thrilled with the idea of sharing the ring with him.

– "A few guys turned down that match, and then we managed to find one who agreed. We don't know yet if that fight will happen, but I'm very excited about it, especially because Yoel will be making his debut on September 12th, here at the Hard Rock. So, he will be fighting in his Miami, and to see Romero fight bare-knuckle, that is a dangerous thing," said Feldman.

It seems that neither age nor the format of the fight can stop this fighting "monster". And while fans are eagerly awaiting his debut, many are still wondering – who will dare to enter the ring with him?
