In an interview with Inside The Ropes, Will Ospreay discussed a variety of current topics in major wrestling promotions, as well as reminiscing about memorable moments from the past. Among these, he fondly recalled his 2017 match against Drew McIntyre

Ospreay admitted that this match still evokes strong emotions for him. Despite some speculating that Ospreay might not be a fan of McIntyre, he had only praise for him, describing Drew as a wrestler with many unique qualities. Ospreay also left open the possibility of facing McIntyre again in the ring. He acknowledged that the era in which that match took place was quite different from today, but stressed that, from his current perspective, things have changed a lot.

“I remember it super fondly. I have nothing but love for Drew and I hope he’s doing well. I haven’t kept in contact with him but I keep up with his work, and hope the same is mutual. If there was ever a chance to throw down I’d happily do it again. I think it was different as well because I had to work as a bad guy.”-Will Ospreay said, as quoted by Pwmania.

Ospreay talked about how his high-flying moves usually get the crowd pumped up, but for his match against Drew McIntyre, he had to be smart about when to use them. He needed to keep the pace of the match just right so that his aerial attacks felt like a big, meaningful moment rather than just a way to get the crowd cheering. Even though planning wasn't too hard since they had fought before, Ospreay and McIntyre wanted to make sure their match told an engaging story. Ospreay was really excited about wrestling McIntyre and said he'd be happy to do it again.

Both were open to the story, knowing that they had the ability to create a great moment in the world of wrestling and give fans and the audience what they wanted. Additionally, the company executives wanted them to put on a spectacle that people would talk about. They succeeded in that, and now Ospreay looks back on it with nostalgia.

Will Ospreay also spoke about his rivalry with MJF, which has been a hot topic. The 31-year-old wrestler isn’t sure if MJF has truly found himself or knows what he wants. Ospreay stresses that MJF’s main drive is to prove his critics wrong, which he thinks might not lead to good results for a popular wrestler, as chasing after something just to defy others doesn’t necessarily bring success. Ospreay, on the other hand, prefers to focus on making a statement and believes it’s not important to cater to others or to contradict them. Ospreay's confidence is indeed something special.

The 31-year-old did not want to deny that MJF is a talented individual that many have been talking about and a talent that has been awaited in the wrestling scene for years. He possesses many qualities that make him stand out from others.

Will believes that their last match was a true indicator of who is better, as he points out that MJF had to resort to desperate measures to secure the win.

"But if anyone’s gonna look at that match and think that it’s a foregone conclusion that MJF is better than Will Ospreay, well at the 59-minute mark I feel like he realised that he wasn’t exactly on my level, so he needed to do something cheap to secure the win."

Will Ospreay on being a babyface: I’ve always been a very happy, chappy person

Will Ospreay recently shared with The New York Post that he truly enjoys his role as a babyface, explaining that he's a cheerful person full of positivity who loves working with others. While he acknowledges that he has a negative side, he emphasizes that he's generally someone who is easy to work with. Ospreay feels that this role suits him well and wants to show the world that he can achieve great things as a babyface.

Although many were surprised by his new approach, they enjoy seeing this different side of him. Ospreay is aware that this role has brought new challenges, but he states that no one doubts his potential to do great things as a babyface.

“I’ve always been a very happy, chappy person, I do have a little bit of an * side of me, but I’m very much an easy person to get along with. Going into that role, I feel like I was the right guy to come in at the right time.”- he said.

We will see what they plan with him in the future. A lot is expected.
