Tyson Fury, known as the two-time world heavyweight champion, claims that he has a third match against Oleksandr Usyk arranged. Although he has recently announced that he is retiring from boxing, today he announced that he will return to the ring. Strange, isn't it?
During his career, this experienced fighter won almost all heavyweight belts, but he never became the absolute champion. He tried to unify the titles twice and lost both times to the Ukrainian Usik in 2024. Despite this, Fury now says he will fight him again, but this time on home soil, in England.
Agreed trilogy and a big change of attitude
Only yesterday, in an interview at the IBA Pro Show in Turkey, he claimed that he was retiring from the sport, that boxing was a finished story for him. But this morning he announced on social media that the fight was arranged for April 18, 2026 at Wembley Stadium.
– “Trilogy! UK. For tickets, contact here,” – he wrote on Instagram. He also shared a photo with Saudi powerhouse Turki Alalshikh, who announced his return last night. In addition, he posted a picture of his new luxury villa with the comment: “A big thank you to my brother Turki for the new house.”
This news surprised many, because yesterday they could watch his interviews in which he categorically declared that he was retiring.
When asked by reporters why he would return at all, he replied:
– “Haven’t I won all the belts? There’s nothing left to fight for.”
But he immediately adds:
– “Is the love of sport more important than my health? Health is the most important thing, health is wealth… I will definitely have consequences for everything I’ve been through in the ring.”
It looks like we’ll soon witness one of the most exciting trilogies in the world of boxing, and Fury, although he’s been in the game for a long time, still doesn’t give up on big challenges.
