The Carolina Panthers did not expect to win only one game in such a shameful way to start a season. This puts to rest those voices who felt that the Carolina Panthers could redeem themselves after two depressing weeks. Let’s say that Carolina has been anything but exciting and more like a hype with a team that opened the season with a shameful 47-10 loss to the New Orleans Saints and then capped it all with a 27-3 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers.

Trying to assuage a dismal start to the season, the Panthers shocked everyone on Monday when they did that. The team said they will not start quarterback and last year’s first overall pick, Bryce Young, but will instead turn to the old hand, Andy Dalton.

“When he was selected first overall in the draft, I did not hear about people, to give him credit, ‘poo-pooing’ that, at least during that time,” Smith said. “But still, it has turned out to be a complete and utter fail.

I want to keep you all in mind. Please bear with me here, [Shannon Sharpe], and you too [Domonique Foxworth]. Do you know how, over the last ten games, many ten seconds, the Carolina Panthers have led? They have had a lead for 10 seconds over the last 10 games.

Mean, that is tragedy”. Smith carried on, emphasizing Young’s in-game woes. “Well, I’ll tell you that we are focusing on Bryce Young right now. He has a win-loss record of 2-16, which is the lowest in the NFL; he is 15th in the channel right now with 59.3% percentage accuracy, dead last; 173.4 passing yards per game, 31st outranked out of 32 quarterbacks playing. This is the level which he holds”.
