Experienced Shane Mosley has no doubts about Terence Crawford's chances against Canelo Alvarez. The match scheduled for September 13, according to him, could become a night to forget for the American boxer. The former champion points out that the physical difference will decide, regardless of the fact that he is a technically quite skilled fighter.
– "I think Canelo is just too big for Crawford. If Crawford was the type of boxer who keeps moving, he might have a more realistic chance, but his heart isn't in running away all the time. He wants to stop and fight, and that will be a problem against Canelo," Mosley told FightHype.
This statement says enough about the essence of his attitude; two worlds will meet in the ring, and he believes that Terence will have a hard time getting away unscathed. Although the 37-year-old is known for his discipline and strong character, such an obstacle could be beyond his capabilities.
Super middleweight category
The legendary boxer notes that entering the super middleweight category is a completely different dimension. He also states that the physical strength and the difference in weight are too big a challenge for someone who has dominated the lower categories.
– "When Canelo starts hitting him, he will quickly realize that this is a completely different level. The lack of size and his age will be the key problems. He is simply too old and has lost too much mobility," adds Mosley.
This great boxer also reminds that Crawford has not been very active in the last four years. One fight a year and a comfortable life have left their mark, the legendary boxer believes.
– "Once you become a millionaire, it is easy to get carried away. Crawford lived like a king, fought rarely, and now all this will catch up with him against the 'face of boxing'."
And while stressing his great performances in the lighter categories, Mosley concludes with cold sentence:
– "In the super lightweight and welterweight categories he was outstanding. In the super welterweight he was solid, but this now... This is already something completely different."
