Armand Duplantis is an athlete who has impressed us many times in his career, and it seems that this 25-year-old does not stop surprising the public with his successes and records. The young Swede attracted the attention of the public this time as well, taking another important step.

The great Swedish athlete Armand Duplantis (25) has once again created a miracle in the world of sports. At the Diamond League meeting in Stockholm, he set a new world record in the pole vault, jumping an incredible 6.28 meters. In doing so, he improved his own record by a centimeter, which he set only a few months ago in Clermont-Ferrand.

This is already his 12th world record in his career, and the fourth time he has managed to do it in the Diamond League. However, this time was special because he did it all in front of his home crowd.

"It was one of my biggest goals and dreams, to set a world record right here. The Olympic Games and this stadium are on the same level for me. I really wanted to do it, I had my whole family here on both sides. It was real magic," Duplantis said with a smile.

Kurtis Marschall finished second

The Olympic champion from Tokyo and Paris secured the victory by clearing six meters, and then jumped a fantastic 6.28 on his first attempt. Australian Kurtis Marschall finished second with 5.90 meters, and Dutchman Menno Vloon third with 5.80.

"Every time I break a world record, on the first jump I feel like this could be the day. But today was a little harder. It didn't feel so natural to me from the start. I almost couldn't believe what I had done, it felt like the first time I broke the record. I'm still a little confused, like my dream came true. I'm so happy," he added at the end.

Can the Swedish athlete go one step further?
