Sean O’Malley Wants To ‘Open’ Merab Dvalishvili’s Eye Cut

The UFC bantamweight champion Sean O’Malley has a warning message for Merab Dvalishvili ahead of their thrilling title fight: “I am 100 percent going to open up that cut”. Dvalishvili’s grappling is pretty solid, but O’Malley rightfully believes that kicks, punches, and precision will suffice to leave the Georgian fighter defeated.

Sean O’Malley on opening Merab Dvalishvili’s cut

In a recent interview with Kevin Iole, Sean O’Malley shed some light on his intentions ahead of his title defense against Merab Dvalishvili.

“I am 100 percent going to open up that cut, whether it’s healed or not,” O’Malley said, as quoted by mmafighting.com. “I don’t know how much it can heal, I’ve never had any bad cuts so I’m not sure, really.

But I’m going to be [aiming for the cut] That’s the left side of his face — this right hand doesn’t miss. I’ll probably accidentally hit his nose before I hit that cut, the nose just kind of takes up 85 percent of his face.

So I’m going to try and get around his nose to get to that cut”.
