In one of the most exciting fights of the night, Sean Brady came out on top against Gilbert Burns and now cemented his position as a potential contender for the welterweight title. While Brady got an edge over the durable Burns, the latter proved once again his power and ground game.

Nonetheless, due to continuous pressure from Brady and a better ground game, Burns was defeated by a unanimous decision. Burns has now strangled himself to a 3 match losing streak.

The 17-1 fighter did not only impress in the grappling department but also in the striking as he kept Burns under pressure.

Burns, who was a one-time title contender, gave his all inside the cage, but it was not enough at all, as Brady totally dominated him. In the post-fight interview, Brady did not miss a chance to provoke other fighters in the welterweight category.

After the fight, he did an electrifying post-fight interview and, without hesitating, called out Ian Machado Garry and Colby Covington. Brady wants to lock horns with either of them in December or January.

Sean Brady’s post-fight interview

In this post-fight interview, Sean Brady spoke about his next fight.

“I’ll fight him. I’ll fight Colby (Covington). I think Colby is the easiest matchup in the division. I’ll piece him up on the feet. I’ll rag doll him. “I’d like to fight Ian – he’s an up and comer," Brady said as quoted by mmajunkie.usatoday.com. "I’m a little bit older than him, but I want to be here for a long time.

He’s undefeated and he’s got some hype. Before, he said that he won’t fight guys ranked behind him, but I’ll be ranked ahead of him on Tuesday with that No. 6 spot. So yeah, maybe I’ll let him fight me.

We’ll see how that goes”.

Sean Brady on when he wants to return

“You can’t really turn down too many opportunities, I’m going to go home, * my bumps and bruises, and we’ll see where we’re at.

But Colby or Ian Garry sounds like a fun one. Maybe December or early January. Like I said, before February 13th”.
