Ryan Blaney wrapped up last season in an incredible way, winning the NASCAR Cup Championship. The 30-year-old silenced critics and those who doubted him. His victory last year generated various reactions, and it seems that Blaney himself didn’t expect to achieve such a feat in the face of such strong competition. It was a moment when he showcased his abilities to everyone.

However, this season has been quite different for him. Blaney has had reasons to celebrate in many races this season, but it’s also important to highlight that he experienced several accidents that could have had serious consequences.

In a media interview, this interesting driver shared his thoughts about the season and the incidents he encountered. Ryan wants to remain optimistic and doesn’t want to promote dissatisfaction, but it’s clear that he wants to speak with NASCAR officials to determine what can be done to minimize such situations.

He is pleased with his team, as they have done everything possible to ensure Blaney has a safe car and achieves success. Although there are some issues with his car, he doesn’t want to worry too much, emphasizing that he will work on those in the coming period.

“I’m feeling alright. A couple of hard hits. I’ve had more hard hits than I’d like, especially recently in last year and a half or so, two years. But yeah, I’m doing okay,” Blaney explained, via Bob Pockrass. “Our team does good job of, you know, doing all we can in the car to try to make sure we’re as safe as we can be. There’s some other tweaks with the cars that we’ve got to continue to work on. But, you know, feeling all right. …"- Blaney said, as quoted by On3.

Although NASCAR officials have worked hard in recent seasons to improve safety, it is clear that much more needs to be done to achieve an ideal situation. Driver safety must come first, while everything else will follow. Ryan Blaney is not happy to have been involved in several accidents, but his intention is to address these issues moving forward. He aims to understand where improvements can be made, while also warning NASCAR and other drivers to be more cautious and attentive.

"I definitely think changes need to be made. It’s something we can talk about during the off-season with NASCAR, and I plan on doing that. I feel like they’ve done a really good job of, you know, helping the front and the rear impacts. Those are kind of the big things. I’ve had the unfortunate pleasure of feeling a lot of the big front and rear impacts, and they have gotten better. That was kind of my first big hit with a side impact."- he continued.

Ryan Blaney expressed that the next step in improving safety is to make the center section of the cars more forgiving during crashes. He stressed that huge progress has been made in enhancing the front and rear of the cars, but there are still issues with the middle section. After a recent practice crash, he observed that the car appeared only slightly damaged on one side, without major body damage. However, the structural integrity seemed compromised. Blaney hopes that they can find solutions to improve the car's resilience during impacts.

The popular driver is not completely dissatisfied with the progress when it comes to safety, but he believes that a lot can be done to make the future brighter for all NASCAR drivers. The current situation is far from ideal, and what he dreamed of, however, the 30-year-old can be happy that he was able to make such a success last season. Of course, his imperative is to do the same now and in the following seasons, but he is aware that it will be a difficult task.

Ryan Blaney on his future

The 30-year-old does not know what to expect when it comes to the future and admits that things are uncertain. He does not want to put too much emphasis on the future, and what could happen, considering that he wants to make a success in Miami next week. Ryan points out that only after that race can something more concrete be known.

Las Vegas didn't turn out to be a positive race for him, but Ryan doesn't want to get too involved in the race, nor do analysis, knowing that it's too late for that. He wishes to do magical things in Miami, spoil plans for others, and achieve success. It is important to emphasize that this popular NASCAR driver is 47 points below the cutline.
