Oscar Piastri delighted fans with his impressive win last week, sparking questions about what McLaren will do next. It’s tough to say whether the team will prioritize Lando Norris, especially since he’s closer to Max Verstappen in the standings than the young Australian.

From the reactions of team leaders and Piastri's comments, it seems clear that Norris might get the edge. In a recent interview, Piastri mentioned that he’s willing to work hard to help Lando secure the championship. However, he also stated that if he finds himself in a position to compete for the top spot, he’ll be happy to go for it.

“Lando is still ahead in the championship and just being honest has a more realistic chance of winning the championship,” Piastri said.

If I am in a position to still win races, that’s what I want to do. But naturally if there are times I can help out for Lando’s championship bid, then I’ll be happy to help if I can.”-Oscar Piastri said, as quoted by BBC.

The 24-year-old Brit, Lando Norris, has a tough road ahead of him. He’s trailing Max Verstappen by a huge 59 points, and Verstappen’s recent form hasn’t been what fans expected. The reigning champion has had a series of impressive seasons, consistently finishing at the top and securing multiple titles, but this year hasn’t gone as smoothly as in the past.

On the other hand, Oscar Piastri is also behind both Norris and Verstappen, making it even harder for him to break into the championship race. Right now, it seems Norris has a better chance of competing for the title, although it’s still going to be extremely difficult.

The last race was particularly difficult for Norris; he faced a lot of pressure, and even young Piastri couldn't lend much support. The key takeaway for McLaren is that Lando finished ahead of Verstappen, which is crucial for accumulating points. However, the big question is: how long can they keep scoring points like this? As the season progresses, it will be interesting to see if McLaren can maintain their momentum and if Norris can close the gap to Verstappen.

Oscar Piastri recently held a press conference before the race in Singapore, where he took a moment to thank his teammate, Lando Norris, for his support during the last race that led to Oscar’s victory. Norris did an amazing job, especially by backing up Sergio Perez right before Piastri made his pit stop. This clever move ensured that Oscar rejoined the track ahead of Perez.

Piastri has shown he knows how to seize opportunities, and he was able to overtake Charles Leclerc during the race. In his comments, he made it clear how grateful he is to have Norris as a teammate, crediting him as one of the key factors in his success. Their teamwork has been crucial, and it's clear that Piastri recognizes the importance of collaboration in achieving great results on the track.

Max Verstappen: I am confident we can do a better job

Red Bull is facing interesting challenges right now, struggling to keep up with the strong performances of their rivals. The Austrian team, which has dominated the sport for years, is experiencing a crisis we haven’t seen in a long time. It seems like every era has to come to an end eventually. However, it might be too early to write them off, especially since Max Verstappen still holds a considerable lead in the championship.

There are questions about whether the 26-year-old driver can bring home the title for Red Bull next season, especially given their current form, which isn’t encouraging for anyone involved. In a recent media interview, Verstappen reflected on the upcoming race in Singapore, mentioning the challenges the track presents. Despite the struggles, he remains optimistic that they can turn things around and improve their performance in the races ahead. His confidence could be a crucial factor as the team works to bounce back.

“Our car is generally not very good on bumps and kerbs and that’s what we have here,” Verstappen said.

“We have to try and stabilise it. I am confident we can do a better job than last year but the competition has improved quite a bit. I am definitely targeting Q3 but let’s see where we end up.”

Singapore could resolve many uncertainties, but it could also be an opportunity for Red Bull to assert its dominance or for McLaren to show that they have the capacity to compete with Red Bull until the end of the season. Norris and Piastri are motivated this time to bring a victory to their team.
