Experienced Ukrainian boxer, 36-year-old Oleksandr Usyk, is known not only as one of the best in the world, but also as a very positive and beloved personality in the world of combat sports. In his career, he has not allowed a single defeat, achieving an impressive 23 victories in the same number of matches. His path is adorned with the greatest successes – he won the titles of absolute champion in two weight categories, cruiserweight and heavyweight.
Known for his strong faith and sincere love for people, he often emphasizes how much he appreciates and respects his opponents. His sincerity was especially evident in a recent interview with DAZN, where he answered without hesitation the question of whether there is a fighter he did not like:
"My weakness is that I love people, I love my opponents. There is only one I do not like. That is Marco Huck. A bad man, because he said bad words about my mother. That is bad."
USYKAND HUCK: CONFLICTS THAT REMAIN REMEMBERED
Usyk defeated his opponent by technical knockout in the tenth round, in September 2017, in the quarter-finals of the World Boxing Super Series, thus retaining his WBO cruiserweight belt. Marco Huck, a German boxer of Bosniak origin, born Muamer Hukić, has a record of 43-5 and last fought a little over a year ago, when he defeated Evgenios Lazaridis.
Now, on July 19, the Ukrainian will face Daniel Dubois in the ring with as many as four main belts at stake. If he celebrates, he will become the first boxer in history to become a two-time absolute heavyweight champion in the era of four belts.
This fight is attracting a lot of attention from the public, and this could be a real spectacle for everyone. Usyk has shown his dominance many times, and we will see if he can be an equally dominant figure this time.
The Ukrainian seems like an insurmountable task for his opponents.
Daniel Dubois, on the other hand, wants to put an end to Usyk's dominance.
