In the second match against Oklahoma, Nikola Jokic left the game already in the third period due to six fouls.
Everything that happened in the game between Oklahoma and Denver is forgettable, at least when it comes to the Nuggets. From the results, to the individual editions of the players on the floor, and Nikola Jokic belongs to that group, who played the worst match of his career when it comes to the NBA league. After the historic debacle, Jokic appeared before the press and answered numerous questions.
He appeared at the conference much calmer than he was on the field, even smiling.
"One team played tonight. They were aggressive, they were just much, much better than us and that's why the result was the way it was," was the first thing he said.
The questions immediately followed... How do you deal with the many guards who are changing on you?
"I'm just fighting for the best possible position and that's it. It's the only thing I can do".
Jokic has never left a game before. Already in the third quarter due to six fouls. Journalists were interested in that last one, the sixth... They asked him if he was out of frustration?
"It wasn't out of frustration. I wanted to make a good block, it happens. They played aggressively the whole game."
Jaylin Williams
The guy who stood out in terms of aggressiveness in defense is Jaylin Williams from Oklahoma.
"He was on defense against me in the last game. He is there to be aggressive against me. It's nothing new. He did the same thing he did in the last game."
This is the second tough playoff loss for Denver and young coach David Adelman. Against the Clippers, the Nuggets rose up and won the series after seven games.
"He's doing everything right. It's not his fault, actually he's to blame, like all the rest of us. It's a collective fault for tonight's result. I think we shouldn't forget this match, but let's learn some lessons. Let's see what we need to fix for the next game".
As expected, there was also talk about the technical card that Nikola received for arguing with the referee.
"I just asked a question, I didn't say anything special. I guess I can ask a question."
