The former UFC welterweight champion Leon Edwards is in the hunt to reclaim what was once his: the prestigious UFC welterweight belt that is currently under the possession of Belal Muhammad. Leon has projected himself to achieve this major feat by the end of 2025. Edwards is still adamant about being a double champion. The bitter taste of defeat affected Leon adversely but he looks forward to brighter days.

Jorge Masvidal showed interest in locking horns with Leon Edwards, it will be interesting to see if that fight ends up materializing.

Leon Edwards on reclaiming the UFC welterweight belt

Recently on MyProtein, Leon expressed how he looks forward to recapturing his title.

“My goal right now is to get the belt back,” Edwards said, as quoted by mmafighting.com. “I’d like to be champion by the end of next year — around this time next year, so I’m just putting steps in place. I haven’t lost a fight in like nine years, it’s getting used to that feeling again, but I feel like I hate losing more than I love winning. There’s not much you can do now, you know, just move on from that and put it behind you. For me, it’s more about what’s next and and how do you get back to where you want to get to. My goal is to be a two-time world champion”.
