One of the greatest basketball players of all time, LeBron James, has made a statement that has inspired people around the world.

The forward emphasized that he doesn’t want to be remembered just for his achievements on the basketball court.

James mentioned that he occasionally thinks about how he would like to be remembered and that he hopes his legacy extends beyond basketball.

"From time to time, I think about how I would like to be remembered. I hope it won’t just be for basketball. If I’m remembered just for basketball, that means I haven’t succeeded," said James.

He also highlighted what he considers the most important aspects of his life: his family and community.

“All the things I do for my community, the way I’ve raised my kids with my wife, my relationship with my single mother, and the friendships I have in my hometown are what matter most to me. If people only talk about basketball and not these aspects, then my mission has failed."

James stressed that while he is an older player in terms of basketball, he still feels young in life and has much more to achieve.

"I haven’t done everything yet. In basketball, I’m an older player, but in life, I’m still young. I have a lot more to do, to build, and to pave my path forward," James said.

The American basketball player is a well-known figure even to those who don't follow the NBA closely. His career is marked by successes and memorable moments, and there is much that sets James apart from others. Throughout his career, James has been more than just a basketball star; he's been active in various fields, including philanthropy and social engagement. This commitment to making a positive impact on people’s lives is what makes him a remarkable individual, not just as a basketball player but as a person.

LeBron James and his son

The new NBA season will bring a lot of excitement, and we expect great performances by new talents, as well as those basketball players who have already marked an era of this sport. LeBron James is definitely one of those.

With just about a month and a half left until the start of the new NBA season, history is set to be made as a father and son prepare to share the same locker room for the first time. LeBron James, a legend of the league who will celebrate his 40th birthday in December, will welcome his eldest son, Bronny James (20), into the professional ranks with the Los Angeles Lakers.

The Lakers selected Bronny as the 55th pick in last year’s draft, a move many speculate was designed to persuade LeBron to extend his contract, which he did. Along with his new two-year deal, which includes a salary of $102.47 million, LeBron's contract was finalized with the added benefit of playing alongside his son, who is expected to join the Lakers.

Since the resolution of LeBron's situation, the focus of Lakers fans has shifted to Bronny. However, his initial performances in the Summer League have not been promising. In his first five games for the Lakers, he averaged just 4.3 points per game and had a shooting percentage of only 22.6%. By the sixth game, he had missed all 15 of his attempts from three-point range.

Many have questioned whether Bronny has the potential for an NBA career or if he's only in the league because of his famous father. This opinion was also shared by Boston Celtics star Jaylen Brown, this year's NBA Finals MVP, who remarked, “I don’t think Bronny is a professional.”

In response to these criticisms, LeBron defended his son, saying, "I'm not sure people understand Bronny. He doesn’t care. I care a little. When I entered the league, I wanted people to like me, and I was affected by the early criticisms I received. Bronny? He doesn’t care."

Recently, the NBA's all-time leading scorer (40,474 points) shared a video of his son training, accompanied by a message that read: “Just keep going, little man. Forget all the hate and noise. They don’t know you.”

The most valuable aspect for this young NBA player is having a mentor who can guide him on how to build his career and what to focus on. Having such a mentor is a huge advantage, and there's no doubt that LeBron James' son will make the most of it. Additionally, it's crucial for him to stay calm during these moments and not react to criticism.

We are impatiently waiting for the new season, when we will see if James' son really has the potential for a great career.
