Lando Norris believes that Max Verstappen will not change his driving style at all, even though he is threatened with a ban. The Dutchman is just one penalty point away from being suspended for the recent incident with George Russell in Barcelona, but he still has a clear goal; to win every race.
Norris, who knows Verstappen well from many duels on the track, especially from last season when they fought for the title, feels that Max will only increase the intensity.
"Max won't give up – it's not in his nature"
At the press conference ahead of the race in Canada, Norris pointed out that Verstappen should not change his approach.
- Max is one of the best in the world because of the way he drives. That cannot be disputed. If he changes something, it wouldn't be him anymore - said Norris.
Max vas penalized
As a reminder, Verstappen was penalized with 10 seconds and three penalty points in Spain, which brought him to a total of 11. One more point; and he will have to pause one race. But when asked by reporters if he was considering changing his style, Max said curtly: “Why would I?”
Norris admits that the incident with Russell was out of the ordinary:
– It wasn’t your typical aggressive driving on the edge of the rules. This time it was different. But I don’t think it’s going to change him. He knows what he wants and he’s going for it.
In the end, he concluded:
– Max is fighting for the title. His points gap is bigger than before. If anything, it means he’s going to drive even harder. There’s no point in speculating whether he’ll give in – because he probably won’t.
It seems that the situation between the two of them is quite tense, and it will be quite interesting to see in which direction the duel between these two, according to many, the best F1 drivers, will go.
