The former UFC light heavyweight champion was observant enough to identify Alex Pereira’s weak zone – southpaw opponents. Pereira will be fighting Khalil Rountree Jr on 5th October. It is worth knowing that Khalil Rountree is a southpaw.

Jamahal has noticed the light heavyweight champion stumbling against such opponents and not being able to fully express his skillfulness. Pereira vs Rountree promises to be a striking battle – it will be interesting to see if Pereira can make it look like breeze.

Jamahal Hill revisits his fight with Alex Pereira:

“[Alex] signals to the ref… the ref yells stop. I stopped completely. He then takes the angle and closes the distance, and then tells the ref ‘no, I’m good’.

Why’d you signal to the ref then in the first place?”

Jamahal Hill on the UFC light heavyweight champions' weakness

In a recent interview with Aljamain Sterling, Jamahal Hill explained how Khalil Rountree’s fighting stance could be a threat for Alex Pereira.

“The thing Khalil has going for him is he’s a southpaw, he has valuable threats from southpaw. If you look at his (Pereira’s) kickboxing career, southpaw is a stance that gives him trouble. Can he beat southpaws? Yes.

But, I haven’t seen him really dominate a southpaw that has multiple threats from southpaw. You saw Jiri, but Jiri just went to southpaw. He was very flat-footed. He didn’t really have anything from it".

Jamahal Hill on being in attendance for Pereira vs Rountree

“I’m going to go, It makes sense, and it affects what’s next for me and things like that.

I’m going to go out there”.
