Ime Udoka and Houston have agreed to sign a long-term contract according to which the Rockets coach will become one of the highest paid coaches in the NBA because, according to American ESPN, he will receive an "eight-figure" salary. Exactly how much will be revealed after signing.

Houston is aware of how high-quality the coach is coming to them, and they had no hesitation in paying huge amounts of money for his engagement and salary.

After working as an assistant with Greg Popovich in San Antonio (2012-2019), and then with Brett Brown in Philadelphia and Steve Nash in Brooklyn, Udoka got the job of the first coach in the Boston Celtics and in his first season led them to the 2022 finals. However, due to his "inappropriate relationship" with club employees, he was first suspended, then dismissed.

He took over Houston on April 26, 2023 and immediately made a significant shift in the game and results. Last season they finished with a near 52:30 record, they knocked out the Warriors in the playoffs, but results are still expected from the young team.

Udoku was in high demand last month

Udoku was in high demand last month (by the New York Knicks) and that's why Houston reacted quickly and reached an agreement with the coach who won 59 times in 93 matches.

The Rockets signed a three-year contract with center Steven Adams for $39 million, and by June 29 they will have to decide whether to retain guard Fred Van Vlit for a $44.9 million contract.

It is still unknown how important a link he will be for this team, but fans are hoping that he can revive the team and continue great things in the future. This will be a serious challenge for him and a chance to show the world his coaching qualities in the right way. Houston did not wait long, knowing that they had a 'golden chicken'. After contacting him, they shared their visions, and there were no problems when it came to negotiations.
