Featherweight, Lightweight, and Welterweight – Mr Topuria plans on conquering all these divisions. His statement may appear to be bold to many, but nothing wrong with being ambitious. It is those who aim for the sky, that reach somewhere close – if not they will at least touch the stars. Ilia has a major task ahead, this Saturday night will be defending his hard-earned belt against one of the toughest opponents in the entire division: Max Holloway. Ilia Topuria is eyeing a fight with Islam Makhachev, a comprehensive win against Holloway could perhaps seal the deal.

In a recent interview with TNT Sports, the UFC featherweight champion shared his ambitions.
“Probably a three-weight world champion, this is my goal,” Topuria said, as quoted by mmafighting.com. “You’re not going to see me in the welterweight division like this, skinny. You’re going to see me different. That’s the goal. Move up to the lightweight division, get that belt, then move up to the welterweight division.
If he stays in the middle the first 10 seconds of the fight, they’re going to see the most exciting 10 seconds in the UFC in MMA history, It’s going to be fireworks. For sure I’m going to do that, and it’s going to be all up to him if he wants to stay with me or not”.
