The rising UFC welterweight fighter Ian Machado Garry has proven himself as a worthy top contender on several occasions by securing back-to-back victories. He strongly urges to lock horns with Colby Covington – both fighters have gone back and forth on several occassions but the fight always failed to materialize.
According to the 6th ranked welterweight contender, UFC offered him to fight Covington again and in spite of saying yes in no time Colby failed to respond and has yet to justify his decision to not sign or reply to the offer.
However, his previous argument highlighted how Machado Garry hasn’t fought anyone worthy enough to share the cage together. Mr.Choas also felt irrelevant fighting someone lower than him in the rankings table.
| Ian Garry says he accepted a with a month ago and nothing has come back from the side as of yet.
Ian Machado on the recent offer
In a recent social media post, Ian Machado Garry shed some light on fighting Colby Covington. “A month ago, I was offered a fight with Colby Covington,” Ian said as quoted by mmafighting.com.
“It took me all of 20 seconds to respond to the e-mail saying, ‘Yes, I’m in. A month later, we’ve still got no response. He’s avoiding me like the plague and there’s one reason and one reason only this fight isn’t happening and his name’s Colby”.
