The departure of Carlos Sainz from Ferrari surprised many, but the Italian team has decided to build its future with Lewis Hamilton, who will defend the team’s colors the next season. The experienced Brit, tired of unsuccessful adventures with Mercedes in recent years, sought a new challenge in his career and aimed to build a successful career with a team that could ensure his success.

The choice fell on Ferrari.

On the other hand, 30-year-old Sainz will continue his story with the Williams team.

Fred Vasseur, Ferrari's team principal, reflected on Sainz's performances this season in a media interview, expressing great respect for him given how important he was to the team. Fred did not forget to praise Sainz's successful performances and the benefits he brought to the team.

“I have huge respect for Carlos, for what he did for the team in the last years, but mainly the last two years with me [as team boss],”  Vasseur said, as quoted by Crash.

“I can perfectly see what he did last year, mainly when we had trouble, he was able to push the team to come back with the pole in Monza, to win in Singapore. This pushed a little bit probably also Charles to react and he did [many] first rows [on the grid] in a row.

He was clearly part of the recovery of the team last year and this season he’s doing a very good job. I know perfectly that the situation was not easy at the beginning of the season, but he’s mega professional."

Fred Vasseur talked about how important Carlos Sainz was in helping the team recover over the past year. He mentioned that Sainz has been doing a great job this season, despite a tough start. Vasseur praised Sainz's professionalism and said that they had agreed to keep pushing hard until the end of the season, which Sainz has been doing really well.

When asked if he would be open to working with Carlos Sainz again in the future, Fred Vasseur said he definitely would. He expressed that he has been very happy to have Sainz on the team and plans to maintain a strong and positive relationship with him.

Many people are surprised as to why Carlos Sainz had to leave the team, especially given his respect for the team and his impressive performances. It appears that the Italian team has bigger ambitions for the coming years, aiming to compete for championships. The team leaders believe that Lewis Hamilton is more likely to help them achieve this success due to his experience and qualities. For Sainz, this situation could serve as additional motivation to work even harder and prove to the team leaders that they made a mistake in their decision.

Carlos Sainz has not completely ruled out the possibility of returning to Ferrari in the future. He stressed that his departure at the end of the year isn't due to any issues between him and Ferrari.

His words reveal the deep respect he still has for the team where he experienced some of the best moments of his career. Sainz never wants to be harsh towards the team or its leaders and remains grateful for the great opportunity he had. He still seems to hold out hope that he might have a chance to represent the team again in the future.

Sainz stated that a seven-time world champion, Lewis Hamilton, wanted to join Ferrari towards the end of his career, which meant Sainz had to step aside to make room. He emphasized that he holds no grudges about this. This great driver also mentioned that he still has five to ten years left in his career, so he’s keeping the option open for a potential return to Ferrari.

Today's trends and whether Hamilton can win the championship

Looking at today’s drivers, it’s clear that some are aiming to extend their careers as long as possible and achieve success. Lewis Hamilton and Fernando Alonso are prime examples of this trend. Their drive and desire for success outweigh their age. Hamilton, in particular, is eager to break records that he set after Michael Schumacher.

These experienced drivers have their sights set on winning that eighth championship and securing their place in the sport’s history as the driver with the most titles.

In his quest for this goal, Ferrari will be the team providing the means to achieve such success. It remains to be seen whether the experienced Brit can indeed accomplish this feat amidst fierce competition.

Lewis Hamilton certainly has the ability to achieve such success, but with competitors like Max Verstappen, Lando Norris, Charles Leclerc, Oscar Piastri, and others, his task will be quite more difficult. The presence of these talented drivers will certainly make his pursuit of that eighth championship much tougher.
