The former UFC fighter Francis Ngannou isn’t strongly interested in fighting Jon Jones anymore. This evaporation of interest is a result of over-friction and conflicting negotiations. The matchup had the potential of securing a label of being the greatest fight in the history of MMA and yet for countless reasons, the matchmakers refrained from making it happen. Both fighters got squeezed in as sandwiches and couldn’t do much about it. With Ngannou competing in PFL and Jon Jones in UFC the matchup seems to be far from impossible to materialize in the near future. Ngannou is more interested in facing Tyson Fury for a boxing rematch.

Francis on fighting Jon Jones

In a recent interview with Seconds Out, Francis Ngannou expressed his raw emotion surrounding the possibility of facing Jon Jones in the near future.

“It’s been four years that I’ve been saying it, I’m confused that people keep asking me this question,” Ngannou said as quoted by mmafighting.com. “It’s been four years. That’s not my problem, I don’t care about it anymore. If it happens, yes, if it doesn’t, * it”.

Francis on who he wants to fight next

“The rematch with Joshua, to be honest, I felt very off and not very comfortable in that fight, It’s something that could happen, but what I do know for sure is that I want a rematch with Fury. Again, I’m not a conspiracy theorist, but I didn’t like the Joshua fight. I think things wasn’t right, nothing wasn’t right, and if it’s going to be the same scenario, I’m not interested. Something unfair definitely happened”.
