The MMA community and die-hard fans have made every effort to be strongly vocal about seeing a fight between Francis Ngannou and Jon Jones. But after Ngannou’s exit from the UFC the chances of materializing that fight kept getting slimer. Jon Jones is more than certain to not face interim heavyweight champion Tom Aspinall next; in a recent tweet, Jon Jones explained how he’s not ducking anyone.
Francis Ngannou took the time to reply and tweet the following:
"Blessings make haters uncomfortable, but they can't change it. There's only one fight, the right fight that will multiply your blessings. #NgannouVSJones".
When asked in the press conference of the 2024 PFL World Championships in Riyadh Saudi Arabia the PFL CEO Peter Murray was very hopeful of making this fight happen. He has now left it in the hands of UFC.

Will UFC and PFL collaborate?
The hurdles to making this fight are high and need coordination between the UFC and the PFL who unfortunately have a limited working relationships with each other in the past. However, this fight to fans and fighters, is perhaps the ultimate benchmark and it will be interesting to see if UFC and PFL can collaborate and make it happen.
Unfortunately, Ngannou relinquished his UFC heavyweight title in early 2023 for his boxing debut and and made a solid entry with mega fights. On the flip side, Jon Jones successfully moved to the heavyweight division to claim two successive wins. After defending the belt against Stipe Miocic the only name that originally arose was Alex Pereira.
Francis Ngannou voices his support for Jon, stating that Jones doesn’t need to fight Tom Aspinall:
“He [Jon ] said he doesn’t need this fight, and when you look at it — pretty much true… there is nothing he can make in this fight if it’s not money. But for Tom… pic.twitter.com/dBWte4JgJ3
