Oleksandr Usyk, undefeated in professional boxing, is on top of the heavyweight world, but there is one fighter who claims he is the one to end his incredible streak.

The Ukrainian fighter won numerous titles, including Olympic gold, and became the cruiserweight and heavyweight champion. Although Usyk has already been on the floor in a fight with Daniel Dubois, which was declared a blow below the belt, he has never experienced a real defeat. He is considered the best boxer of his generation and is currently at the top of the pound-for-pound rankings.

However, Martin Bakole, known for being one of the most feared fighters in the heavyweight division, feels that he could stop the big Ukrainian. Bakole has already sparred with Usyka and believes that he would be able to knock him out.

Bakole believes in his victory

Speaking to Pro Boxing Fans, Bakole, who recently defeated Jared Anderson by stoppage, stated: “Yeah, I believe I'm the only one who can do it. I’ll beat him easy, I’ll knock him out. I’m not just saying that because I’ve sparred with him, I’m saying that because I know how to stop southpaws. I’ve been learning how to neutralize them my whole life, I trained with my brother who’s southpaw. All his moves, all of them, I’ll stop him and knock him out.”

His brother, Ilunga Makabu, is a former WBC cruiserweight champion and held the belt from 2020 to 2023, which Martin says has further shaped his approach to fighting.

The possibility of a Bakole-Usyk fight will depend on Bakole securing mandatory challenger status under the IBF by defeating Efe Ajagba in May. If he can do that, a fight against Usyk could become a reality.

We have no doubt that such a fight could offer fans everything they've been wanting. On one side we have Usyk, who dominates the boxing world, and on the other side, we have a hungry fighter who wants to stop his dominance.
