The new studio of the former director and screenwriter of the GTA games presented two ambitious projects two years ago – a creative platform called Everywhere and an action game MindsEye. This studio, coming from the experience of working on big hits, promised a novelty in the video game industry.
Although Everywhere was intended to pioneer a new era of content creation in virtual worlds, it has not yet received a public release. On the other hand, MindsEye was announced as a separate project that was housed within Everywhere, but it is now clear that this action adventure will become a separate title. With the new information, it is confirmed that we will be able to play it already this summer.
Action in a world of fragmented memories
MindsEye will be an action adventure that will be played from the third person, and the plot follows Jacob Diaz, an ex-soldier. He wears an implant that causes fragmented memories, and in order to unravel the secrets of his past, he must face dangerous, violent challenges. Players will enjoy dynamic combat scenes that include ground combat, car rides and aerial action sequences.
In addition to intense shooting, the development team promises that the game will be enriched with elements of a strategic approach, such as taking cover and using surrounding objects, such as red barrels, which will help in defeating enemies. Although the game will feature driving challenges, it is clear that it is not set in an open world, meaning that there will be no constant interactions with the world around the player. This is certainly an interesting step towards a game that focuses on classic action dynamics, without too many distractions.
While the first gameplay presentation does not bring anything revolutionary, games like this remind us of the golden days when shooters were clear, exciting and focused on action, and not on complex add-ons like looter shooters. Through a rich and interesting narrative, MindsEye could produce nostalgia among gamers looking for a return to that good old recipe that has produced many successful games.
