Eagles QB Jalen Hurts Engaged to College Sweetheart

Jalen Hurts, quarterback for the Philadelphia Eagles, has had an exciting week in and outside the football field. The week following the Eagles' historic NFL South American game against the Green Bay Packers, Hurts made some revelations.

He told Essence that he had proposed to and would be marrying his college girlfriend, Bry Burrows. The proposal was well hatched with petals of roses, several candles, and a violinist to create the atmosphere. Hurts, still lost in the memories of the engagement, further recalled his relationship with Burrows.

“I knew a long time ago,” said Hurts. “That's a feeling that’s hard to find in my life. I suspect that is why we are where we are now”.

Engagement Sparks Speculation

Indeed, wondering fans noticed a large diamond ring she wore as many assumed they must have been engaged. Hurts and Burrows’ friendship dates back to their college years at the University of Alabama when Hurts was the starting quarterback for the Crimson Tide.

Despite being involved in different career paths at the time, the two developed a romantic relationship that has survived to the present day. They are both involved in notable African American Greek-letter societies. Nick is in Omega Psi Phi, while Burrows is in Alpha Kappa Alpha.

Both societies are subsidiaries of the Divine Nine of the National Pan-Hellenic Council. The couple made sure to become public about the relationship in 2023, the same year that Hurts guided the Eagles through the NFC Championship and to a place in Super Bowl LVII.

Now in his fifth season with the Eagles, Hurts continues to outdo himself every season. He closed the year 2023 with 3858 passing yards and 23 touchdown passes, which were his career bests. As the season for another round of the game begins for Hurts, there is another thing in his personal life that is blooming as well: the engagement to Burrows, which is a huge advancement for the pair.
