The Bank of America Roval 400 in Charlotte brought us some excitement, and two of the main players were Denny Hamlin and Tyler Reddick. These two talented drivers had contact during Sunday’s race. Denny Hamlin has faced a lot of challenges lately, making it not easy to be part of this race, but the experienced NASCAR driver gave it his all.

During his 'Actions Detrimental' podcast, Denny Hamlin admitted that he felt tense at one point, worrying about what could happen. The 43-year-old was concerned about the tire, given that there was some bending. However, he is grateful to the team for everything they enabled him to achieve. Without them, it would have been difficult for Hamlin to make progress and take steps toward great success. It will be interesting to see just how much Hamlin can really achieve

“I was worried about the car because it was hurt,” Hamlin said, as quoted by On3.

“You actually could see the left rear tire on TV. It was bent in; It looked like it was bent in and up. The rear of my car was not aligned correctly after that wreck. The credit I gotta give is to my team. My car was not good. It was terrible under braking with the damage. And whenever I went to the left, the thing was spinning out and to the rights it was crazy tight. Not as tight as I was loose but still, this thing was hurt. They made some good adjustments."

Hamlin decided to praise NASCAR crew chief Chris Gabehart. He was honest, telling Hamlin what to expect regarding this race. What should bring joy to the experienced NASCAR driver is that they resolved all the issues and he managed to finish in the top 15. This also signifies the next phase for him. Hamlin demonstrated that with teamwork and collaboration, nothing is impossible.

“Chris Gabehart said, ‘Look, I’m not gonna be able to fix it, but I’ll give you an adjustment in here to try to help the handling.’ And they ris [did a great job. They got the balance to where I could at least maintain and hold my spot. I wasn’t lights out by any means. But they gave me a car just good enough to get a top 15 finish.”- he continued.

Although some expected that things could become catastrophic for Denny Hamlin after his contact with Reddick, everything actually took a different turn. The experienced NASCAR driver was able to move on to the playoffs afterward. Denny Hamlin admitted that it was nerve-wracking to be in such a position, as seconds could determine whether things would turn chaotic for him

Denny Hamlin explained that it was difficult to be in their position during the race. He stressed that the main risk was having a very negative day, which made it difficult for him to be as aggressive as he wanted. However, he also had to be careful not to lose too much track position. He praised the positive atmosphere and the excellent work of his Sports Clips Haircuts Toyota team, especially Chris Gabehart, for keeping them competitive. In the end, he was fortunate to finish in the top 15.

Kevin Harvick and his comment

Kevin Harvick commented on Denny Hamlin's performance and progress in the Championship 4 during a media interview. As an experienced figure in the NASCAR scene and someone who has competed at a high level for many years, Harvick often shares his insights on drivers, races, and events in his podcast. This time, he offered his thoughts on Hamlin's driving, who was once his competitor on the NASCAR tracks.

Kevin Harvick explained that when observing Denny's interview, it was clear he felt a sense of relief after everything that happened during the race, particularly regarding his contact with Tyler Reddick and the damage to his car. It looked like Hamlin was far from what he imagined, but he managed to pull himself out of a difficult situation.

This great driver, as previously mentioned, stressed that things were extremely tough for him, but he managed to pull through from a challenging situation. His experience, teamwork, and skill played a crucial role in his success this time. Harvick stated that he has had many encounters with Hamlin on the NASCAR tracks.

Former NASCAR driver noted that both Reddick and Hamlin made it into the playoffs, which added to that relief. He mentioned that when Hamlin spoke about the challenges of the first two rounds of races and the variety of unique racetracks they had to navigate, it gave him confidence that Hamlin's team would perform well at the upcoming race in Las Vegas.

It will be interesting to see what Hamlin can show in the next races.
