Dale Earnhardt and his son Dale Earnhardt Jr. left a huge mark on NASCAR scene. Both of them won the sympathy of NASCAR fans all over the world, and became the reason why some started following this sport. Both were superior on superspeedway tracks, achieving most of the victories on such tracks. Fans ask the question, would this duo be equally superior in today's time?

Denny Hamlin shared his sentiments during the 'Actions Detrimental' podcast, believing that the way superspeedway racing works today would not bring a lot of positive things for the two of them.

“Dale Jr. and Dale Earnhardt would have never survived in today’s superspeedway racing,” Hamlin said. “Wouldn’t of done it. A, they wouldn’t have been successful because of how superspeedway racing happens today. But then to be told who you can and can’t draft with? It’s nonsense, but it’s the world we live in.”-Denny Hamlin continued, as quoted by On3.

It is difficult to draw a parallel between today's drivers and those of the past, considering that a lot has changed in the last 10, 20 years. NASCAR is constantly evolving, and the fact is that it will continue to evolve in the years ahead.

This experienced driver is not sure if the two would adapt to today's times, but he emphasizes that the producers have a strong influence on who you can group with.

“We absolutely know that manufacturers play a role in who you draft with and who you don’t. Teams play a role with who you draft with and who you don’t. I hate all of it, just for the record. I’d rather use anybody and everybody to my advantage.”-he concluded.

The 44-year-old obviously favors probably more of today's drivers, but he also points out the changes that have taken place, which have changed a lot in the world of this sport.
