Colorado head coach Deion Sanders has come under fire after his team managed to win against Colorado State 28-9 on Saturday. Despite leading during much of the second half, the events that transpired, and Sanders' actions in particular, have created controversy in the game.

I would understand passing the ball, but why continue to do so, with 19 point lead and in the fourth quarter? It seems Shedeur Sanders’ numbers were being massaged for stats, some thought. The action drew mixed feelings from the supporters and reviewers.

CBS announcers Rich Waltz and Ross Tucker had no qualms reprimanding Sanders in the course of the game’s broadcast, questioning his methods. They reasoned that Sanders could have probably been ignoring Pat Shurmur’s normal offensive strategy.

Tucker Questions Decision

"I have to be honest with you. I think that this has to be coming from Deion Sanders," Tucker commented. "Why risk it in this situation? Why would a three-time head coach of the NFL worry about Pat Shurmur wanting to take this risk in this situation? I would think Pat would have knelt down with the victory and avoided taking unnecessary hits on the quarterback or offensive tackles." "Less than the most all-embracing sequence came in the last minutes of the fight when there was a little more than one minute left on the clock.

After leading by 19 point Colorado still decided to not only pass but go for it on the fourth down. The pass fell incomplete and as usual, Shedeur Sanders was coaxed enough to take a hit whilst delivering a pass, an act which did not amuse Tucker." "They're fortunate that this was not a worse blow," Tucker added.

"What do you think the reaction would be if Shedeur had injured his throwing arm with less than a minute left in a game that was going into his teams favor? It risks high injury to players in such way, executing tight ends around the field in other NFL or FBS teams, I do not interface with such abnormality in architecture that incorporates grouping like this." Despite the criticism, Shedeur Sanders finished the game with 310 yards and four touchdowns.
