CM Punk is a well-known figure, and his actions and opinions are constantly in the spotlight. For the experienced wrestler, grabbing the attention of fans and industry experts has been his primary goal. Dave Bautista, another major name in wrestling and now a prominent actor, recently weighed in on CM Punk during the promotion of his new film.

Bautista, who had a long-standing feud with Punk, shared his thoughts on BuzzFeed Celeb, suggesting that CM Punk could have a successful career in film. Bautista believes that Punk should consider acting and collaborate with him. The 55-year-old wrestler and actor emphasized that Punk needs to be open to such opportunities as it's a viable path to enter the film industry.

"You know who I think was really overlooked as an actor? I don’t know if he hasn’t pursued it as much as he’d like to because he’s still heavily pursuing professional wrestling but it’s CM Punk, Phil Brooks. His potential in acting is pretty unlimited. So I really wanna see more from him in acting, and I’d actually love to work with him because I think he has a passion for acting, but I think, still, his heart is in professional wrestling. Until he’s able to let that go a little bit, he’ll never be able to fully envelope himself in acting and I think Phil Brooks…he’s a great actor.”- Bautista said, as quoted by Pwmania.

The popular wrestler also touched on his weight, noting that he is now the lightest he's been since he was 19. He committed himself to losing weight and getting back into the best shape possible. Bautista, who is well-versed in the worlds of wrestling and fitness, recognized that shedding pounds was crucial for achieving this goal. Soon after, he managed to lose the weight, and many are now saying that he has never been in such excellent shape.

“I’m getting super trimmed. This is probably the lightest I’ve been since I was 19 years old. The heaviest I’ve ever been was 370 pounds. When I started Deacon, I was about 325 pounds. Throughout most of my wrestling career, I was about 290 pounds. Now I’m about 240 pounds. Just a year and a half ago for Knock At The Cabin, I went up to 315 pounds and that’s when the nightmare started. Getting that weight off has been a real challenge.”- he continued.

Dave Bautista addressed concerns about his health, explaining that some people online have expressed worries because of his recent weight loss. He pointed out that despite his current weight of 240 pounds at 6'4", which might sound hefty, he's actually not as big as he used to be.

Bautista stated that because he's been so much larger in the past, some people might think he's unhealthy or even anorexic. However, he emphasized that he’s still a large person, and compared to the typical actor, he might appear quite imposing, which can be distracting.

This great wrestler wanted to let his fans, especially those who’ve followed him from his wrestling days, know there's no need to worry about his health. At 55, Bautista has been diving into new projects and embracing a fresh lifestyle. He’s making great strides, showing that he’s doing well not just in wrestling but in many other areas of his life.

Bautista on John Cena's plan to retire

Dave Bautista shared his thoughts on John Cena's plan to retire by thanking fans personally. While he has a lot of respect for Cena and gets along well with him, Bautista stressed that their approaches to retirement are quite different. Bautista explained that, unlike Cena, he wouldn’t feel comfortable going on a farewell tour to personally thank fans. For him, receiving accolades and being the center of attention feels awkward and inauthentic. Bautista feels that being a "babyface" who seeks crowd approval just isn’t his style.

Dave Bautista has always had different views and principles compared to John Cena, and he's demonstrated that throughout his career. Despite this, Bautista emphasized that he respects Cena and never intended to show any negativity towards him. Bautista is content with his own retirement, stating that it unfolded just as he had envisioned. He had no desire to create a spectacle around it.

The 55-year-old reiterated that he prefers not to seek attention, explaining that he shared his retirement decision on social media and chose to end his wrestling career quietly and on his own terms.

Wrestling fans still talk about Dave Bautista with nostalgia, reminiscing about his fantastic matches. For some, his performances were so compelling that they began following the sport because of him.
