Cleveland Browns young running back Quinshon Judkins was arrested Saturday in Fort Lauderdale, Florida on serious charges of domestic violence and physical assault. The information was confirmed by the Fort Lauderdale Police Department as well as Broward County jail records.
Judkins, who is only 21 years old, is currently being held without bond. According to the statements of police officials, the incident happened on Saturday morning, and the police responded after receiving a call to the emergency service around 9 am local time.
Attack confirmed, club gathering information
Police spokesman David Sojka told ESPN that upon arriving at the scene, they found that there had been a physical attack, and the young player was immediately arrested. Judkins was reportedly charged based on a report received earlier that morning.
"The police officers reacted quickly and after establishing the facts, made an arrest. The person was deprived of his freedom without much resistance," said Sojka.
The Cleveland Browns issued a brief statement: "We are aware of the situation and are currently gathering additional information."
Judkins was the 36th pick in this year's NFL draft. He arrived in Cleveland as a big star from the colleges of Ole Miss and Ohio State, and it is interesting that he is the only one of the seven Browns rookies who still has not signed his rookie contract.
Preparations for the Cleveland Browns tight end begin as early as Friday, and this incident could seriously complicate his status with the team and even his future in the NFL.
