Chase Elliott, a well-known name in the NASCAR scene, often ventures into discussions beyond racing and is known for being an honest and engaging interviewee. In a recent conversation with *The Teardown*, the 29-year-old driver drew an interesting parallel between NASCAR and college football, two seemingly unrelated sports.

Elliott was particularly impressed with the way college football operates, mentioning the length and structure of its season. He suggested that NASCAR could benefit from adopting some aspects of the college football model. College football is unique in many ways, and its system stands out from those of other sports. Elliott highlighted how the college football system generates excitement and anticipation among fans who keenly await the start of each new season.

He proposed that NASCAR might consider integrating some of these elements in the future. NASCAR officials are always looking for ways to evolve and improve the sport, so it's possible that ideas inspired by college football could be explored as the sport continues to grow and adapt.

I think they do a lot of things well,” Elliott said, as quoted by On3

“I mean, we talked about this, but I think the first thing is the length of the season. They they get a lot in, you know, in a — when I say length of season, I’m not necessarily talking about the number of races, but just the amount of calendar year that you burn in doing it, because, you know, just like we talked about a month or two ago, I just — as a college football fan, or football fan in general, their season is fairly short, right? And when it rolls back around, it’s exciting, you know. Waiting all year for this."

Chase Elliott explained that he likes how college football creates excitement by having a break between seasons. He thinks NASCAR could benefit from something similar, where fans really miss the sport when it's not on and get super excited when it comes back. Elliott feels that having fewer races might actually make each one feel more special and increase the overall excitement.

It's obvious that many sports, including soccer—which isn’t as popular in the USA—are adding more games to make more money. But the real question is whether this will actually keep fans more interested or if it could backfire. Chase Elliott seems to think that having too much of anything can be a bad thing. Even though he’s been in NASCAR for years, he’s not happy with the current race schedule and stresses that having too many races might not be the best for the sport.

Chase Elliott is a huge fan of the Georgia Bulldogs: I’ve been a fan as long as I can remember

The popular NASCAR driver hasn’t hidden his passion for the Georgia Bulldogs, a team he’s been following for years. Elliott is a big fan of the sport and particularly enjoys watching this team. He’s pleased with the direction the club has been taking, especially given their impressive performance in recent years. Chase remains a dedicated supporter of the Bulldogs and has no plans to change that anytime soon.

“I’ve been a fan as long as I can remember. Grew up going to games and stuff. Love watching them. I mean they were always really solid. They’ve never been just like a bad program. … It’s fun being a fan because they’re good, like for sure. That’s great and I love that aspect."- he said.

Chase Elliott is proud to be a Georgia Bulldogs fan because the university doesn’t keep changing head coaches every year if they don’t win the national championship. He really dislikes when schools quickly fire coaches if they don’t get immediate results. Elliott likes that the Bulldogs are more patient and supportive of their coaches, giving them time to build and improve the team.

This amazing driver understands the value of having loyal fans who support you no matter what. With his long experience in the sport, he knows firsthand the pressure and disappointment that can come from fans and how it affects both individuals and teams. He stresses that support is crucial, not only in his own career but also in college football. Elliott sees the backing of Hendrick Motorsports fans as vital for reaching his big goals.

Chase Elliott is one of the most successful drivers in the world of NASCAR. In his rookie season of 2014, he won the NASCAR Xfinity Series Championship, becoming the first rookie to achieve that feat. Just six years later, he captured the Cup Series Championship with Hendrick Motorsports.

The 29-year-old wants to achieve similar successes in the coming period.
